Installing Your Rain Chains
-
Measure from the bottom of your gutter to the ground, or to the top of your rain barrel.

- Remove the old downspout, if present. Make sure that your gutter is in good repair and solidly attached to the house.
-
Rain chains work best when installed in a 2-in. round gutter outlet, rather than just a hole in the gutter. Our rain chains come with a 2-in. gutter outlet adapter, consisting of a gutter outlet and an adapter plate. If you're installing new gutters, install just the outlet. If you have an existing 3 x 2 gutter outlet, drop the whole adapter into your existing outlet to make it smaller.

-
Hold the hanger vertical, and pass it up through the gutter outlet.

-
Turn the hanger horizontal, and rest it on the edges of the gutter outlet.

When Hanging
During shipping, or after a windstorm, the links may slide over each other and appear crooked when the chain is hanging up. If a link appears out of place, press it in the direction that it should be going. It will easily click into place.

Over time, your rain chain may stretch a little. To shorten it, use two pairs of pliers to twist open the links at the desired point.
